Friendly Networks for Professional Enhancement

America has a long tradition of professional societies and associations. Through associations, you get to meet other professionals at annual conferences and SIG meetings. For example, if you are a Mechanical Engineer, you could be active with ASME or American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

There are two specific suggestions:

Firstly, we would like to enhance your participation in associations relevant to you. A typical academician in the US is a member of 3 to 6 associations. For instance, we would like to see you join more associations and societies. If you are already a member, we would like you to present papers at their annual conference. In addition, you may want to become an office bearer and gain visibility.

Secondly, we would like you to share that experience with similar associations in India. You could help by becoming “Honorary Members” with the intent of mentoring the office bearers of the associations. In India, you could address the annual conference of these associations in India.

This is a not-for-profit activity.
